A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL
MASTER COMPUTER SYSTEM FROM MULTISONICS CORPORATION.
0 WHEREAS, Section 1110 of the Charger of the City of Newport Beach pro-

vides, among other things, that the City Council may authorize the purchase of
certain goods and services without competitive bids after determining such
purchase to be more economical; and
WHEREAS, Multisonics Corporation is the only known manufacturer of
the type of equipment most suited to the circumstances in Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, Multisonics Corporation has acquired considerable equipment
compatible with the Multisonics Master Computer through the competitive bid pro-
cess; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to proceed with the installation of a
Traffic Signal Master Computer System to improve traffic flow and reduce
congestion, delay and accidents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach that the direct purchase of a Traffic Signal Master Computer
System from Multisonics Corporation is more economical than competitive bidding;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said purchase is hereby authorized.
