HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-130 - Stop Sign on Iris AvenueRESOLUTION NO. 89- 130 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH REQUIRING VEHICLES TRAVELLING ON IRIS AVENUE TO STOP AT FOURTH AVENUE AND ON FOURTH AVENUE TO • STOP AT LARKSPUR AVENUE C WHEREAS, Section 12.36.010 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code provides, among other things, that whenever any ordinance or resolution of this City designates and describes any street or portion thereof as a through street, or any intersection at which vehicles are required to stop at one or more entrances thereto, the City Traffic Engineer shall erect and maintain stop signs on each and every street intersecting such through street or portion thereof so designated; and WHEREAS, the Traffic Affairs Committee has determined that there is a need for additional intersection control at Iris Avenue and Fourth Avenue and at Fourth Avenue and Larkspur Avenue in the City of Newport Beach; that traffic travelling on Iris Avenue should be required to stop at Fourth Avenue and on Fourth Avenue at Larkspur Avenue and stop signs should be posted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, that the following described location is hereby designated as a location at which vehicles are required to stop: Iris Avenue at Fourth Avenue Fourth Avenue at Larkspur Avenue BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer be and hereby is directed to erect and maintain all necessary signs at the above location.
