HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-132 - Inter City Liaison Committee• RESOLUTION NO. 89 -132 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY' COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING MEMBERSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE INTER CITY LIAISON COMMITTEE AND ABOLISHING RESOLUTION 9404 WHEREAS, the Inter -City Relations Committee was established to provide necessary communication between the cities of Costa Mesa, Irvine, and Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, over the years the city membership has expanded to include Santa Ana, Tustin, Laguna Beach, as well as, Costa Mesa, Irvine, and Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, this Committee has been named the Inter City Liaison Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council abolishes the Inter -City Relations Committee and establishes the Inter City Liaison Committee. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Committee should have the following characteristics: a. Its membership from Newport Beach shall consist of two Council members appointed by the Mayor and the City Manager. b. The Committee shall have the responsibility to meet at least once a month to review matters of mutual interest. C. The Committee is to develop, where feasible, agreements on common problems and /or the sharing of municipal services on a cooperative basis. d. The Committee shall rotate its meetings between the members of the Committee. e. The term of the Committee shall be indefinite.
