HomeMy WebLinkAbout90-3 - Transportation Management Associations• RESOLUTION NO. 90- 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH RECOGNIZING THE FORMATION OF TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATIONS AND DESIGNATING MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO ACT AS LIAISON. WHEREAS, the California Air Resources Board and the South Coast Air Quality Management District have adopted measures requiring employers to promote ridesharing and other alternatives to driving alone; and WHEREAS, employers are joining together to establish Transportation Management Associations to facilitate effective implementation of these alternatives; and WHEREAS, the City Council supports these Transportation Management Associations and desires to establish a liaison with these Associations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby recognize the formation of the following Transportation Management Associations: 1. Centeride: serving the businesses in the Newport-Center area. 2. Transportation Resource Center: serving businesses in the coastal areas of Newport Beach outside of Newport Center, as well as the eastern portion of Huntington Beach and the southern portion of Costa Mesa. 3. Airport Area Transportation Management Association: serving businesses in the cities surrounding John Wayne Airport. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall appoint a Councilmember to act as liaison to each of the associations, with the initial appointments to be as follows: 1. Centeride Jean Watt 2.
