HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-14 - Marina Mobilehome Park and American LegionRESOLUTION No. k -14 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH CREATING THE CITY COUNCIL MARINA MOBILEHOME PARK AND AMERICAN LEGION AD HOC COMMITTEE WHEREAS, representatives of the American Legion and the Marina Mobilehome Park have requested consideration for a lease extension; and • WHEREAS, the existing leases on both agreements expire on March 15, 2000; and WHEREAS, in order to facilitate review of the requests under terms and conditions mutually acceptable, the City Council wishes to create the City Council American Legion and the Marina Mobilehome Park Ad Hoc Committee whose duties, responsibilities, and membership shall be as follows: 1. MEMBERSHIP - The Committee shall consist of two members of the City Council appointed by the Mayor and the Mayor, with the Mayor appointing the chairperson of said Committee. 2. DUTIES; A. The Committee shall meet with representatives of the American Legion and the Marina Mobilhome Park to consider a further lease extension under terms and conditions mutually acceptable. B. The Committee shall consider the current land use as well as performing some evaluation on the highest and best use for the parcels currently covered by the two leases. C. The Committee shall have the authority to retain pro- fessional consultants to assist them in the land use issues and the negotia- tion process provided the City Council approves of the necessary budget amendments required to retain said consultants. D. The Committee shall provide whatever information is required to the California State Coastal Commission and the California State Land Division for their review and consideration of details of the proposed lease extension. E. The Committee shall report periodically on the status of negotiations with the American Legion and the Marina Mobilehome Park representatives to the City Council. 3, STAFF - Staff will be provided to the Committee as requested by the Committee 4. MEETINGS - The Committee shall meet as required to • accomplish their duties and responsibilities. 5. TERMINATION - The Committee shall terminate upon the sub- mission of its final report to the City Council or on November 1, 1993, whichever is sooner unless the term is extended by the City Council. • ADOPTED this 27th day of January , 1992.
