A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
REQUESTING THE ORANGE COUNTY LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
AUTHORITY AND THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO INCLUDE
WITHIN THE ORANGE COUNTY COMBINED TRANSPORTATION FUNDING
PROGRAMS THE IMPROVEMENT OF ROADWAYS LISTED HEREIN
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
HEREBY RESOLVESt DETERMINESr AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
• (a) THAT, WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to
improve the streets listed below;
(b) WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is preparing an
application to be declared by the Orange County Local
Transportation Authority to be eligible to receive Measure M
"turnback" funds;
(c) WHEREAS, the City's Circulation Element is
consistent with the County of Orange Master Plan of Arterial
Highways;
(d) WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach will provide
matching funds for each project as required by the Orange County
Combined Transportation Funding Program Procedures Manual;
(e) WHEREAS, the Orange County Local Transportation
Authority or the Board of Supervisors intend to allocate funds for
the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities and the
County;
NOW, THEREFORE,
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby
requests the Orange County Local Transportation Authority and the
Board of Supervisors to allocate funds in the amounts specified in
the City's application to said City from Measure M or the Arterial
Highway Financing Program. Said funds shall be matched by funds
from said City as required and shall be used to aid the City in the
improvement of the following streets:
Jamboree Road
Bristol St. to Ford Rd. /Eastbluff Dr.
Rehabilitation of Street Improvements
MacArthur Boulevard
PCH to SJH Transportation Corridor
Super Street Feasibility Study
MacArthur Boulevard
PCH to San Joaquin Hills Rd.
Design of Street Improvements
Westcliff Dr. /17th St. & Irvine Ave.
Intersection Modifications
• Design of Intersection Modifications
Airport Area Signal Interconnect
7 Signals in vicinity of J.W. Airport
Construction of Signal Improvements
