A Resoution of the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach setting a fee for the granting of a
Short Term Lodging Permit.
•WHEREAS, Ordinance 92 -13 was approved by the City Council on May II, 1992
and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance 92 -13 adds chapter 5.95 to the Municipal Code
establishing regulations for the operation of short term lodging units, and,
WHEREAS, section 5.95.040 provides that application for a short term lodging
permit shall be accompanied by a fee no greater than necessary to defer the cost
incurred in administering Chapter 5.95, and,
WHEREAS, three to four thousand short term lodging permits are expected to
be issued and that costs for mailing, printing, record - keeping, administration and
enforcement are estimated to exceed $50,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application fee for a short term
lodging permit shall be ten dollars ($10.00).
