HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-94 - Campus Drive as County Highway• RESOLUTION NO. 92- 94 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH CONSENTING TO THE DESIGNATION OF CAMPUS DRIVE BETWEEN BRISTOL AND MACARTHUR AS A COUNTY HIGHWAY FOR PURPOSES OF RIGHT -OF- WAY ACQUISITION AND IMPROVEMENT. WHEREAS, on March 3, 1992, the Board of Supervisors of Orange County adopted Resolution No. 92 -201 which designates all or a portion of Campus Drive between Bristol Street and MacArthur Boulevard as a County highway for purposes of right -of -way acquisition and improvement; and WHEREAS, the proposed widening of Campus Drive is consistent with the Circulation Element of the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, the proposed widening of Campus Drive is a condition to the approval of the John Wayne Airport Master Plan; and WHEREAS, the County designation of Campus Drive as a County highway is not effective until the City Council of Newport Beach, by ordinance or resolution, consents to the designation; and WHEREAS, the City Council concurs with the improvement and widening of Campus Drive by the County and, by this Resolution, expresses its consent to the designation of Campus Drive between Bristol Street and MacArthur Boulevard as a County highway during the time necessary to complete the improvement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach as follows: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby consents to, and concurs with, the Orange County Board of Supervisors' designation of Campus Drive between Bristol Street and MacArthur Boulevard as a County highway during the period of time necessary to acquire right -of -way for, and completion of, the 1 • is improvement described in Orange County Board of Supervisors' Resolution No. 92 -201. SECTION 2: The consent of the City Council to the designation of Campus Drive as a County highway is conditioned upon relinquishment by the Board of Supervisors of that portion of Campus Drive within the corporate limits of the City of Newport Beach after the improvement is complete. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to transmit a certified copy of this Resolution to the Orange County Board of Supervisors.
