A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH ESTABLISHING THE CITY COUNCIL AD HOC OPEN SPACE
COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the Comprehensive Infrastructure and
• Open Space Agreement ( CIOSA) with the Irvine Company; and
WHEREAS, the CIOSA provides for significant open space to be dedicated to
the City; and

WHEREAS, the CIOSA provides for the potential purchase of additional open
space in the area of Upper Castaways and Newporter North; and
WHEREAS, a variety of acquisition and financing methods have been
reviewed by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach that the City Council Ad Hoc Open Space Committee is hereby
established as follows:
MEMBERSHIP
The Committee shall be comprised of the Mayor and two Council Members
nominated by the Mayor and approved by the full City Council.
FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
The Committee shall investigate the feasibility, review methods of financing and
make recommendations to the City Council regarding acquisition of open space in the
areas of Upper Castaways and Newporter North.
TERM
The Committee shall sunset on January 1, 1994 unless such term shall be
extended by the City Council.
ADOPTED this 26th day of October 1992.
