HomeMy WebLinkAbout94-34 - Copying FeesRESOLUTION NO. 94 -34 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING FEES FOR COPYING PUBLIC RECORDS PURSUANT TO SECTION 6257 OF THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 93 -24. • WHEREAS, Section 6257 of the California Government Code provides that a local agency may establish a fee to copy an identifiable public record, which fee shall not exceed the direct costs of duplication; and WHEREAS, the fees set forth in this resolution represent the direct cost to the City of Newport Beach in providing copies of identifiable public records and information and the direct operating expense. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach as follows: 1. The following fees are established as the fees to be charged for providing copies of identifiable public records maintained by the City of Newport Beach which are not otherwise subject to statutory fee or other administrative fee. Fees shall be as follows: A. For All Departments: 1. Five cents ($.05) per page for all regular photo copies; 2. One dollar ($1.00) per page for color photo copies; 3. For computer - generated records, the cost of the computer disc; 4. One dollar, fifty cents ($1.50) for each five minute time period spent by a City employee to AWL operate the photocopier or other machine to iw duplicate the public record. 5. Photographs and contact sheets: Six dollars, seventy -five cents ($6.75) each. 6 Audio and videotapes: Three dollars, fifty -1- cents ($3.50) per tape, and Two dollars, fifty cents ($2.50) for each five minutes spent by City video technician to reproduce the tape. 7. Polaroid copies: Three dollars, seventy -five cents ($3.75) each. 0 B. The fees shall become effective June 13, 1994. 2. Resolution No. 93 -24 is hereby rescinded effective June 13, 1994.
