A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF PROJECTS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT
OF ROADWAYS LISTED HEREIN TO THE ORANGE COUNTY
TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR FUNDING UNDER THE ORANGE
COUNTY COMBINED TRANSPORTATION FUNDING PROGRAM
. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH HEREBY
RESOLVES, DETERMINES, AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
(a) THAT, WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to
implement the transportation improvements listed below;
(b) WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has been declared by
the Orange County Transportation Authority to be eligible to receive Measure
M "turnback" funds;
(c) WHEREAS, the City's Circulation Element is consistent with
the County of Orange Master Plan of Arterial Highways;
(d) WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach will provide matching
funds for each project as required by the Orange County Combined
Transportation Funding Program Procedures Manual;
(e) WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Authority
intends to allocate funds for transportation improvement projects within the
incorporated cities and the County;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
hereby requests the Orange County Transportation Authority allocate funds
in the amounts specified in the City's application to said City from the Orange
County Combined Transportation Funding Program. Said funds shall be
matched by funds from said City as required and shall be used to aid the City
in the improvement of the following streets:
1. jamboree Road Rehabilitation Project
Bristol Street to Campus Drive
Construction
2. MacArthur Boulevard Widening Project
San Joaquin Hills Road to Ford Road
Construction
3. Birch Street Overcrossing Widening
Bristol Street South to Bristol Street North
R/W Acquisition and Construction
4. Bayview Drive Extension ( University Dr. North)
Jamboree Road to MacArthur Boulevard
Design and Construction
Jamboree Road/ Ford Road Intersection Improvements
Design, R/W Acquisition, and Construction
6. Jamboree Road/ Bison Avenue Intersection Improvements
Design, R/W Acquisition, and Construction
7. Placentia Avenue Widening
Hospital Road to Superior Avenue
• Design, R/W Acquisition, and Construction
8. Newport Boulevard Widening
30th Street to 32nd Street
Design, R/W Acquisition, and Construction
9. Pacific Coast Highway Widening and Intersection
Improvements
Tustin Avenue to Riverside Avenue
Design, R/W Acquisition, and Construction
