A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH SETTING FEES FOR MASSAGE
PERMITS AND RENEWAL OF MASSAGE PERMITS
PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 5.50 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH
MUNICIPAL CODE AND AMENDING RESOLUTION NO.91-
70.
• WHEREAS, Chapter 5.50 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code
establishes regulations and permit requirements for the operation
of massage establishments within the City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, Sections 5.50.020, 5.50.035, and 5.50.070 of Chapter
5.50 provide that applications and renewals for operator and
technician permits shall be accompanied by the appropriate fee; and
WHEREAS, the City Council intends to recover its costs
associated with processing and administering permits for massage
operators and massage technicians and processing renewal of
permits.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
California, hereby resolves as follows:
SECTION 1:
1. The application fee for operating a massage
establishment shall be $380.00, plus fingerprints.
2. The application fee for massage technician permits and
holistic health massage technician permits shall be
$300.00, plus fingerprints.
3. Off - premises massage fees shall be $20.00.
4. Massage permit transfer fees shall be $20.00.
SECTION 2:
The fees established for Section 5.50.025, 5.50.035, 5.50.045,
and 5.50.070 in Resolution No. 91 -70 are hereby rescinded.
