HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-8 - Planning Commission Amendment 814RESOLUTION NO. 95 -8 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING AN AMENDMENT THE PLANNED COMMUNITY DISTRICT REGULATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE NORTH FORD PLANNED COMMUNITY (PLANNING COMMISSION AMENDMENT NO. 814) • WHEREAS, as part of the development and implementation of the Newport Beach General Plan the Land Use Element has been prepared; and WHEREAS, the Newport Beach Municipal Code provides specific procedures for the implementation of Planned Community zoning for properties within the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, the proposed revisions to the Planned Community District Regulations are consistent with the Newport Beach General Plan; and M WHEREAS, the proposed project meets the criteria of the Traffic Phasing Ordinance; WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act an Initial Study has been conducted to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of the proposed project. The Initial Study concluded that the project could not have a significant effect on the environment, therefore a Negative Declaration has been prepared; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held a duly noticed public hearing and has recommended adoption of the proposed amendment by the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that based upon the information contained in the Initial Study, comments received, and all related documents, the City Council finds that there is no substantial evidence that the project, as conditioned or as modified by mitigation measures identified in the Initial Study, could have a significant effect on the environment, therefore a Negative Declaration has been prepared. The City Council finds that the Negative Declaration adequately addresses the potential environmental impacts of the project, satisfies all the requirements of CEQA, and reflects the independent judgment of the City Council. The Negative Declaration was reviewed and considered . prior to approval of the project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby approve an amendment to the North Ford Planned Community District Regulations and Development Plan as attached hereon as Exhibit 1. Parkins • A minimum of 21.87 parking spaces shall be provided per unit, including one covered space. In addition, guest parking shall be provided within the development at a minimum rate of 0.5 space per unit. Guest parking may be provided on street, in parking bays, or on driveway aprons (minimum 20 -foot depth), in a manner acceptable to the City Traffic Engineer. 11
