A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING RESOLUTION 91 -70
RELATING TO THE PERMIT FEES FOR THE RETAIL
• SALES OF FIREARMS
WHEREAS, Newport Beach Municipal Code Chapter 5.80 regulates
the retail sale of firearms; and
WHEREAS, Section 5.80.040 provides that the City Council shall
establish by resolution the fees for administration of Chapter 5.80; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that imposing a retail firearms
permit application fee on individuals principally engaged in firearms sales and
service with the Newport Beach Police Department could result in a higher
cost to the City for such services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to distinguish the retail sale of
firearms permit application fee for individuals principally engaged in retail
sales and service of firearms with the Newport Beach Police Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach as follows:
There shall be no fee to process retail sale of firearms permit
applications for individuals principally engaged in firearms sales and
service with the Newport Beach Police Department.
