Minutes for the June 10, 2014 Study Session and Regular Meeting The page numbers below refer to Volume 61. The passages in italics are from the draft, with suggested changes shown in stfikeetft underline format. 1. Page 582, sentence 1: "Council Member Gardner addressed Option No. 2, noting that unless a concept is in the initial design, pursuing additional design options de does not work well after the design approval." 2. Page 582, paragraph 2, sentence 4: "... and stated that the pierhead and bulkhead lines could be changed, with little di€finu t difficulty at the local level with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' help." 3. Page 584, paragraph 2: "... the possibility of tying boats to docks rather than mooring camps cans, ..." 4. Page 585, paragraph 7, sentence 2: "... added that the docks would add a lot of square footage where such de does not currently exist, ..." 5. Page 585, paragraph 2 from end [re: OCSD construction on Mariner's Mile]: "Council Member Henn recused himself from this item since the discussion involves construction within 500 -feet of his residence." [This seems incorrect since Council Member Henn lives far from Mariner's Mile. Was there some other reason ?] 6. Page 588, paragraph 3, sentence 2 from end: "... with a presentation by Rick Stein, Executive Director of Arts M Orange County, on the City's sculpture program in the park." 7. Page 589, paragraph 3: "Council Member Petros commented on Item 7 (Storm Drain Trash and Debris Interceptor Project), noting that the trash and grade debris interceptors are critical to water quality in the Bay and the coast." 8. Page 592, paragraph 1: "... Mayor Hill's recusal on Sections 6 and 12 of Item No. 12; ..." [When Mayor Hill said he was recusing himself from the Traffic Signal Synchronization and Turf Replacement portions of Item 12 ( "Annual Measure M Fund Eligibility Requirements') it was clear enough what he meant by "Sections 6 and 12," however the sections are not numbered in the staff report. It might also be noted it is unclear if the Turf Removal and Irrigation Retrofit application would actually be for Jamboree Road (as indicated in the staff report) or for Irvine Avenue — making it unclear what the recusal related to.] 9. Page 592, Section XVII, paragraph 1, last sentence: "... and suggested installing ewe - dimensiana! uni- directional speakers that project sound to the audience only." [The speaker said "uni- dimensional," but it seems clear from the context the expression intended was "uni- directional' or simply "directional'] 10. Page 593, paragraph 1, sentence 2 from end: "She alleged that this is a new project and not a modified project so therefore-, must be given new and separate consideration." [delete comma] June 24, 2014, Council agenda item 1 comments - Jim Mosher Page 2 of 2 11. Page 594, paragraph 3: "Council Member Petros commented on the Tentative Map and Community Development Director Brandt stated that the vision of ownership is in the air and there is only one parcel involved." [This is what was said, but the Director might be asked something whose meaning would be clearer could be substituted in the minutes. In context, the reference was to the concept of "airspace' maps and ownership.] 12. Page 596, paragraph 2: "City Attorney Harp commented on the recusal process, ..." [If any recusals on the budget adoption matter happened, they are not reflected in the minutes.] 13. Page 597, Item 17, paragraph 6, sentence 2: "He emphasized that this is another example of the City passing savings onto on to residents."
