Re: Cultural Arts Grants - FY 1999/2000
Representatives from the following cultural arts organizations will be present at the July 26,
1999, City Council meeting to receive their grant awards.
The awards were recommended by the City Arts Commission and approved by the City
Council on July 12, 1999.
ALTERNATIVE REPERATORY THEATRE*
Two education /outreach performances of
"Art on Tour"
BALLET MONTMARTRE
Two dance education /outreach performances
in each elementary school
BALLET PACIFICA
One performance and busing for third graders
at Newport Harbor High School
BAROQUE MUSIC FESTIVAL
Fees for professional musicians at 1999 Music Festival
BOWERS MUSEUM
In -class cultural art lessons and projects and
"We Are One" assemblies in elementary schools
FESTIVAL BALLET
Performances of the "Nutcracker" and "Sleeping
Beauty" at three schools
MOZART CLASSICAL ORCHESTRA
Two presentations of "Mozart on the Move" at the
high schools

READERS REPERTORY THEATRE
Eight monthly Thursday evening performances
at the Newport Beach Central Library
SISTER CITY*
A Japanese art and cultural festival and rededication
of the "Friendship" sculpture
STOP -GAP
Twelve educational touring plays in Newport Beach schools
for grades 3 -12
SOUTHLAND OPERA*
Three presentations of "Stories Come Alive" at elementary
schools.
