SUBJECT: Tapas Grill (Stuart Rains, applicant) 4253 -A Martingale Way SUMMARY: Request to allow a remodel and expansion of an existing eating and drinking establishment. The application also includes a request to allow the addition of a 550 square foot outside patio in conjunction with the existing restaurant operation, and a change in the conditions of the existing Use Permit to allow dancing and alcohol usage on the patio. OSUBJECT: Districting Map Interpretation SUMMARY: Request to provide interpretation and direction regarding the front yard setback for lots located on the north side of the 1100 and 1300 blocks of East Balboa Boulevard. SUBJECT: Newport Dunes Resort SUMMARY: Planning Commission discussion of the proposed Newport Dunes Resort development, including preliminary review of the draft environmental impact report. Temple (949) 644 -3222 Supplemental Report SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION AGENDA — October 21,1999 SUMMARY: Report of the actions of the Planning Commission Item 1 regarding 4253 -A Martingale Way/Tapas Grill (Use Permit No. 3510 Amended) was continued at the request of staff to November 4, 1999. (Vote 5 ayes, 2 absent) Item 2 regarding Districting Map Interpretation, staff was given direction on the setback to be used for the purpose of calculating permitted floor area (2 times buildable area using the 6 foot setback, with an additional l times buildable for the area between the 2.5 foot and 6 foot setback), and directed staff to return with an amendment to Districting Maps 11 and 12 to resolve the setback issue. (Vote 6 ayes, l absent) Item 3 regarding the Newport Dunes Resort draft environmental report was discussed and was scheduled for further discussion at the Planning Commission meeting of November 4, 1999.
