As a concerned citizen, I oppose the proposed Newport Boulevard improvements
from approximately 315` St. to Via Lido. Although I understand that the City
intends to expand the parking lot adjacent at the old Block Buster Video site, I do
not believe that the construction of this new parking lot fully mitigates the loss of
the existing, convenient, on street parking distributed throughout the area. I am
concerned that this project will inadvertently cause a decline in business, loss of
jobs, increase in vacancies and a decline in property values in the area, not to
mention an increase in demand for parking in adjacent residential areas.
