The goal of the project is to review Coast Hwy facility within Orange County to improve multi -modal (vehicle, 2015 Funded by OCTA and bicycle and pedestrian) flow of local and regional traffic, while reducing impacts to local agencies by identifying Project Started Caltrans the needs of the condor, facility improvements, and funding sources to complete improvement projects. Newport Blvd Modification - Via Lido to 30� St Project will widen Newport Boulevard by adding one additional northbound through lane from 301� Street to 32nd Street and one additional southbound through lane from Via Lido to 32nd Street. The project will also create on- 2015 S2M street bicycle lanes from Via Lido to 32nd Street, connecting with the recently installed bike lanes on 32v1 Street; Design Phase (Construction) construct new landscape medians and street lighting and modify existing traffic signals. West Coast Hwy at Old Newport Blvd (Arches Interchange) Modification This project will widen the westbound side of West Coast Highway at Old Newport Boulevard to accommodate a third through lane, a right turn pocket and a bicycle lane. Old Newport Boulevard might be realigned to maximize the right turn pocket storage length and improve roadway geometrics. Lane striping and the addition 2016 S1.9M of an on- street eastbound bicycle lane through theinterchange will also be evaluated as part of the project.
