SUBJECT: ONE -HOUR PARKING RESTRICTION ON WEST COAST HIGHWAY
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a resolution establishing a one -hour parking restriction in front of 1100 West
Coast Highway.
DISCUSSION:
The owner of the property at 1100 West Coast Highway has requested the on- street
parking in front of his business be restricted to one hour. The affected business is a
Ferrari dealership located across the street from the Balboa Bay Club. Currently there is
no time limit and the owner has observed cars parking for periods of up to several days.
He indicated this interferes with his customer parking as well as his ability to load and
unload vehicles.

RESOLUTION NO. 2000-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH LIMITING THE PARKING OF
VEHICLES ON A CERTAIN PORTION OF WEST COAST
HIGHWAY (1100 WEST COAST HIGHWAY)
WHEREAS, Section 12.44.010 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code
provides that when authorized signs are in place giving notice thereof, no person shall
stop, stand, or park any vehicle between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. of any day
for a period of time longer than one (1) hour upon such streets or portions thereof as the
City Council shall designate by resolution; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to limit the parking of vehicles as hereinafter
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach that the parking of vehicles between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00
p.m., except on Sundays and holidays, be limited to one (1) hour in front of 1100 West
Coast Highway.
BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer is hereby
authorized and directed to appropriately sign or mark said area to indicate such parking
limitation.
