SUBJECT: Appointment of Chairperson of Environmental Quality Affairs
Committee
SUGGESTED
ACTION: Confirm Mayor's appointment of Robert Hawkins
The City Council has appointed Earl McDaniel, the current chairperson of the Environmental
Quality Affairs Committee (EQAC), to the Planning Commission. Because Council policy is for
volunteers to serve on not more than one commission or committee, Mr. McDaniel will be
leaving his EQAC position. Resolution 98 -17 establishes EQAC and provides for appointment
of its officers. The chairperson is to be appointed by the Mayor. Mayor Noyes has indicated that
he wishes to appoint Robert Hawkins, a current EQAC member, as its chairperson.
