Subject: Accept a $2,000 Grant from the Boand Family Foundation
RECOMMENDATION
Approve Budget Amendment No. BA -001, transferring funds donated by the Boand Family
Foundation to the Fire Department for the Junior Lifeguard Program.
BACKGROUND
The Boand Family Foundation is a family -run, non -profit charitable organization that recognizes,
celebrates and rewards unconventional individual excellence. Over the last ten years, the
Foundation has awarded over $72,000 to hand- picked students, teachers and organizations to
recognize their unique contributions to society.
The founder, Reverend L.M. McDermott, Ph.D. met with Junior Lifeguard program coordinator
Reenie Boyer, and recommended a $2,000 award to support our first -class youth education
program. The funds will be used to supplement our Junior Lifeguard safety equipment.
