The awards were recommended by the City Arts Commission and approved by the City Council on July 11, 2000. BALLET MONTMARTRE $2,500 One dance education/ outreach performance in five elementary schools. BALLET PACIFICA $3,000 Busing to a performance for third graders at Newport Harbor High School. BAROQUE MUSIC FESTIVAL $1,800 Facility rental for an expanded festival audience. BOWERS MUSEUM $1,000 In -class cultural art lessons and projects and "We Are One" assemblies in elementary schools. FESTIVAL BALLET THEATRE $2,000 Performances of "Sleeping Beauty" at three schools. LAGUNA PLAYHOUSE $600 One performance of THEATREREACH for elementary school students and their families. LINCOLN STORYTELLERS $2,000 Train a group of children to become storytellers, and support their performances at City venues. NEWPORT BEACH FILM FESTIVAL $2,600 Honoraria, travel, and marketing for the two-day filmmakers seminar series held during the festival. NEWPORT BEACH SISTER CITIES ASSOCIATION $2,000 Community French festival at the Central Library in the fall, honoring Sister City Antibes. Presentation of Cultural Arts Grants - FY 2000/01 Page 2 NEWPORT HARBOR NAUTICAL MUSEUM $1,000 Educational materials and honoraria for a six- lecture series about nautical art for adults. ONCE UPON A STORY $500 One performance at the Newport Beach Central Library. ORANGE COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART $5,000 "Art in the Museum" project for grades 2 -12. PACIFIC CHORALE $2,000 Two performances of "Sound on Site" at elementary schools. PACIFIC SYMPHONY $2,000 One performance at the Newport Beach Central Library. PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY $1,500 Replace musical instruments and other equipment for the "Music Mobile." READERS REPERTORY THEATRE $900 Nine monthly Thursday evening performances at the Newport Beach Central Library. SOUTH COAST REPERTORY THEATRE $3,000 "Eddy Tour" performances in elementary schools. SOUTHLAND OPERA $600 One presentation of "Stories Come Alive" at the Imagination Celebration at the Central library. STOP -GAP $ 3,000 Educational touring plays in Newport Beach schools for grades 3 -12. WILLIAM HALL MASTER CHORALE $3,000 Three performances in elementary schools. TOTAL ALLOCATIONS: 540,000
