Harkless, City Clerk SUBJECT: WEB SITE REVIEW AD HOC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION 1) Adopt Resolution No. 2000 -_ establishing a Web Site Review Ad Hoc Committee; and 2) Confirm Mayor Noyes' appointment of and to the Web Site Review Ad Hoc Committee. BACKGROUND At the City Council meeting of July 25, 2000 Mayor Noyes requested that the City Council meeting of August 8, 2000, include the appointment of a Web Site Review Ad Hoc Committee. The Web Site Review Ad Hoc Committee will review the current links provided to the City's web page and establish a Council policy setting the criteria for links to the home page. The committee will automatically cease to exist at such time as the policy is adopted by the full City Council. LaVonne M. Harkless, CMC /AAE City Clerk Attachment: Resolution RESOLUTION NO. 2000- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A WEB SITE REVIEW AD HOC COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the City Council recently received correspondence regarding the links to the City's home page; and WHEREAS, on July 25, 2000 the City Council directed staff to bring back an item at an upcoming meeting to establish a committee to develop a policy that sets the criteria for links to the City's home page. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby establishes the Web Site Review Ad Hoc Committee. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Committee is charged with the following duties and responsibilities: 1. Review of the current links provided to the City's home page; and 2. Establishment of a Council Policy setting criteria for links to the City's home page. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Committee shall automatically cease to exist at such time as a policy is adopted addressing the links to the City's home page. ADOPTED this 8th day of August, 2000.
