HomeMy WebLinkAbout12 - Grant Deed & Slope Easement DeedSeptember 26, 2000 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM NO. 12 TO: Mayor and Members of the City Council FROM: Public Works Department SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT DEED AND SLOPE EASEMENT DEED FOR CONVEYANCE OF RIGHT -OF -WAY ALONG BONITA CANYON ROAD AND FORD ROAD RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Accept the Grant and Slope Easement Deed from the San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor Agency for real property used for the construction of Bonita Canyon Road and Ford Road. 2. Authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the acceptance of the Grant Deed and Slope Easement Deed document. 3. Authorize and direct the City Clerk to have the Grant and Slope Easement Deed recorded by the Orange County Recorder. DISCUSSION: The Transportation Corridor Agency (TCA) constructed Bonita Canyon Road as a bypass for Ford Road adjacent to Harbor View Homes. They acquired the right -of- way from the Irvine Company for the construction of the project. The Grant and Slope Easement Deeds transfer the roadway right -of -way to the City of Newport Beach. The TCA is dedicating the following parcels to the City of Newport Beach in fee: • Bonita Canyon Road right -of -way from MacArthur Boulevard to easterly City boundary (Parcel No. 300125) • Roadway right -of -way at the intersection of Ford Road and Mesa View Drive (Parcel No. 300125 -11) • Roadway right -of -way at the intersection of Ford Road and Prairie Road (Parcel No. 300125 -10) Subject: Acceptance of Grant Deed and Slope Easement Deed for Conveyance of Right -of -Way Along Bonita Canyon ROAD and Ford Road September 26, 2000 Page: 2 The TCA is dedicating the following slope easements to the City of Newport Beach: • Slope easement along Bonita Canyon Road (Parcel No. 300125 -7) • Slope easement along Mesa View Drive (Parcel No. 300125 -5) The suggested actions will convey the subject property to the City of Newport Beach and it is necessary for the City to accept the fee and easement dedications before the documents can be recorded.
