SUBJECT: ORDINANCE NO. 2000 - AMENDING CHAPTER 12.66 - PRIVATE
ROADS, OF THE NEWPORT—BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
RECOMMENDATION:
Introduce Ordinance No. 2000 - amending Chapter 12.66 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code to apply provisions of the California Vehicle Code to private roads in the
Baypointe Apartments Development and updating sections of Chapter 12.66; and pass
to second reading on November 28, 2000.
DISCUSSION:
A condition of approval for the Baypointe Apartments Development required application
of provisions of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) to streets within the development
and enforcement of those provisions by the Newport Beach Police Department. This
ordinance would also update existing lists of private roads in Chapter 12.66 of the
Municipal Code which currently have the provisions of the CVC applied.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING CHAPTER 12.66 OF
THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE TO APPLY
PROVISIONS OF THE CALIFORNIA VEHICLE CODE TO
PRIVATE ROADS IN THE BAYPOINTE APARTMENTS
DEVELOPMENT AND CORRECTING OTHER SECTIONS
OF CHAPTER 12.66.
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 12.66.092 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is to read
as follows:
12.66.92 Application of Vehicle Code to Private Roads in the Baypointe
Apartments Development.
The provisions of the California Vehicle Code shall apply to the following private
streets in the Baypointe Apartments Development in the City of Newport Beach:
Baypointe Drive
12.66.60 Application of Vehicle Code to Private Roads in Broadmoor
Seaview Development.
The provisions of the California Vehicle Code shall apply to the following private
streets in the Broadmoor Seaview residential development in the City of Newport
Beach:

The provisions of the California Vehicle Code shall apply to the following private
streets in the Villa Balboa Development in the City of Newport Beach:

Paris Lane
Stare Lane
Reims Lane
Lille Lane

SECTION 2: The City Clerk shall cause the same to be published once in the
official newspaper of the City, and it shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption.
SECTION 3: This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the_day of 2000, and
adopted on the day of 2000, by the following vote, to wit:
