On December 12, 2000, the City Council approved a staff recommendation to expand the
duties of the Airport Issues Committee to include review of Aviation Committee
recommendations and JWA operations. After analyzing the duties and responsibilities of
the various committees that discuss aviation issues, staff believes there is considerable
overlap and is now recommending the duties of the Airport Issues Committee be limited
to the following:
• (1) evaluate airport related grant requests and make recommendations to the
Council regarding those requests;
(2) oversee specific grant expenditures to ensure compliance with conditions;
