I grew up on Balboa Island and graduated from Corona del Mar High School in 1968.
After a long absence from Newport Beach (1978 -1983 in Huntington Beach, 1983 -1997
in Dana Point), I was able to move back to Balboa Island with my family in 1997. I
joined the Balboa Island Improvement Association Board of Directors, as my parents did
40 years ago, because of my interest in this wonderful community and desire to preserve
its unique character.
The Aviation Committee is of particular interest to me because:
•:• I have lived on Balboa Island before and after commercial aviation was
established at Orange County Airport.
I spent 14 years in South County and experienced the El Toro military flight
activity.
As a resident of South County, I was in the minority and voted for Measure A
and against Measure S because I knew that lack of an El Toro airport would
doom Newport Beach.
•:• I am a licensed Civil Engineer, General Engineering Contractor, and land
developer with land use expertise.
