WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has embarked upon a process to
comprehensively update its General Plan; and
WHEREAS, an important first step in this process is a community outreach and visioning
program to help the city understand the opinions of the community in regards to the
future of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, Hoag Memorial Hospital, Presbyterian provided its Conference Center as
• the location for the Vision Festival; and
WHEREAS, Hoag Hospital also provided their outstanding professional assistance to
ensure the event's comfort, quality and professionalism; and
WHEREAS, the generosity of Hoag Hospital was a key factor in the tremendous success
of the Vision Festival, which attracted nearly 400 participants and 30 community booth
exhibitors.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Tod Ridgeway, Mayor of the City of Newport Beach, do hereby
proclaim the city's thanks to
HOAG MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, PRESBYTERIAN
its Board of Directors, Executive Management and Administrative Services Staff, for the
generosity and professional assistance in making their facilities available for the Vision
Festival, further recognizing Hoag Hospital as a valued and important community
institution whose presence contributes greatly to the Quality of Life in Newport Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City
of Newport Beach to be affixed this twenty- second day of January, 2002.
