SUBJECT: BUDGET AMENDMENT TO ACCEPT A CHECK FROM THE NEWPORT
BEACH LIBRARY FOUNDATION AND APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR
THE DISTINGUISHED SPEAKERS LECTURE SERIES
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve a Budget Amendment in the amount of $20,500.
DISCUSSION:
A check from the Newport Beach Public Library Foundation in the amount of $20,500
for the Distinguished Speakers Lecture Series (DSLS) will be presented to City Council
and deposited in account 4010 -5901.
When appropriated the funds will be used as follows:
I. 4070 -8010 Advertising & Public Relations
Advertising DSLS brochures will be printed and mailed by Kenny the Printer. This
amount will cover half of the projected expenditures.
II. 4070 -8080 Professional & Technical Services
17,500
Contracted services with two of the four DSLS Speakers. This amount will cover the
50% deposit required by both speakers, David Halberstam and David Kessler.
