Six names had been forwarded to the City Council for consideration to fill four vacant positions. However, since it had been two years from the time applications were originally submitted, the City Council voted to request updated information before confirming all but one of the recommended nominees. Lila Crespin was appointed to fill the vacancy created by Jennifer Wesoloski (who served as representative for the Culture and Arts category) based on the Council's knowledge of Ms. Crespin's experience on the Arts Commission in the past. Staff contacted the remaining candidates and requested the completion of new City Board /Committee applications. As indicated in the previous City Council report, three vacancies were at large for District 1, 3, and 4 (Alex Kakavas, Todd Knipp and Jackie Sukiasian, respectively). Updated applications have been received from all of the five previously nominated GPAC candidates including: (1) Elizabeth Bonn and Win Fuller, District 1, (2) Barbara Lyon, District 3, and (3) Gordon Glass and Hall Seely, District 4. All applications are attached to this report, with the exception of Win Fuller who will not be able to serve at this time after all. The General Plan Advisory Committee is a commendable follow up to the recommendations ofNewport Tomorrow that a comprehensive general plan be established and, more pertinent, that there continue to be liaison between the community, the Planning Commission and the City Council regarding general plan matters. As 61 year resident of Newport Beach, I have participated in a good amount of Newport's past and I shall be glad to have the opportunity to again contribute something to its future. I believe my long time residence in Newport Beach, coupled with my involvement in various civic activities over the years, provides me with experience and perspective which will permit me to be sensitive to community input and to contribute to the work and recommendations of the Committee. My interest in the growth and well being ofNewport Beach and the well being of its residents has been constant, and is even greater now as my grandchildren, as well as my children, call Newport Beach their home. 0 0 ly • • • m 0 0 O 0 U m C'o rQ 3 6, 'D ro O 0 C m m m °O —o V W N A i fJ N 1 - 9 O Cl) 04 1 I i 0 1 U 0 c CL 0 Cl) 0 CIO m o 0 CIO O Cl) O'D m CL a m I m m ry t07 En 0 m CL w cn FD*' X w M o a a 0 =7 m w M E; m 0 — 9 % 0 N . , I >> 0 C m m m • • • G) `D, m n 0 O O 0 m CC) 1 (D U'1 1 CJl O 00 CD cr CD 1 co CD D cr CD U) \N mm M3 ti.rs C m m Z m n r Z n 0 0 0 0 V OI U1 A [J N r 9 Z n ? 0 S -n N G O 10 7 N N N Q d cr ry cr m N .
