Adopt Resolution No. 2004 - _ adopting the "Greenbook Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction" 2003 Edition. DISCUSSION: The City of Newport Beach Design Criteria and Standard Special Provisions and Standard Drawings 2004 Edition manual has been revised by staff to contain new City criteria, provisions, and details not included in the previous 1994 Edition. The revisions, which have been made are routine updating only, and will not materially alter the obligations of users such as contractors and developers. The revisions typically include changes due to technology, updated construction techniques, and compliance with current City policies. In addition to adopting updated City Standards, it is recommended that the City adopt the current edition of The "Greenbook' Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction 2003 Edition as published by BNi Building News. This publication is used for the City's Capital Improvement Program. The standard specifications establish the contractual obligations, rules of conduct, and material specifications for the City's construction projects. This publication is updated every three years. Copies of the publications are available for review by interested parties in the Public Works Department.
