Danner, Administrative Services Director (949) 644 -3123 ddanner@city.newport-beach.ca.us SUBJECT: FISCAL YEAR 2004 -05 PROPOSED BUDGET HEARING RECOMMENDATION: Hold the Public Hearing on the Proposed Budget for the 2004 -05 fiscal year and, after taking public input, prepare a 'checklist' of proposed changes to the Proposed Budget that will be reviewed by the City Council at the meeting of June 22, 2004. Direct the preparation of the Budget Resolution for adoption at the Council Meeting of June 22, 2004, including any checklist" items that are recommended for approval. DISCUSSION: Pursuant to Section 1102 of the Newport Beach City Charter, and Council Policy F -3 titled Budget Adoption and Administration, the Proposed Budget for the 2004 -05 fiscal year was submitted to the City Council on April 30, 2004. Subsequent to that submittal, the City Council held budget study sessions on May 11, May 25, and June 8, 2004 to review the departmental budget requests. At the May 25th Council Meeting, the City Council scheduled the Public Hearing for the proposed budget for June 8, 2004. After public and City Council input, a 'checklist' will be prepared for review by the City Council at the Council Meeting of June 22, 2004. At the meeting of June 22 "d, the City Council will formally adopt, by resolution, the Proposed Budget for the 2004 -05 fiscal year. Submitted by D nnis C. BROMBERG RE: SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET ITEMS Date: June 8, 2004 The following items request my Supplemental Budget request: An additional $5,000 to the existing Grant to The Balboa Island Museum & Historical Society. 2. $6,540 to the Balboa Island Improvement Association for holiday lighting assistance. 3. $2,500 to the Irvine Terrace Association for holiday lighting assistance. This amount to be specifically designated to the northeast corner of Jamboree and Bayside Avenue. 4. $35,000 for refinishing 160 light poles on Balboa Island. 5. $60,000 for replacement globes for 193 light standards on Balboa Island. 6. $32,500 for median landscaping on Park Avenue - Balboa Island (Big Island). 7 $27,000 for budget differential for Marine Avenue street tree replacement covers.
