OFFICE OF THE CITY ATTORNEY November 9, 2004 Julia Nash 103 San Leon Irvine. CA 92606 RE: VIDEOTAPE Dear Ms. Nash: As requested, enclosed is your videotape that was originally submitted to the City Council of the City of Newport Beach on Tuesday, November 9, 2004. If you have any questions, please give me a call. Very truly;yours, Cynthia Ann oole, DeLartment Ads Istant for the Office oTf e City Attorney cp cc: ::..,1wt5toflne; .Ety eMc F:\ users\ cat \shared \cp \Cyndi \letter \Cynd iW N V ideotapel ntro.d oc 3360 Newport Boulevard Post Office Box 1768 • Newport Beach, California 92658 -8915 Telephone: (949) 644 -3131 • Fax: (949) 644 -3139 www.city.newport- beach.ca.us TO: MAYOR RIDGEWAY, MAYOR PRO TEM BROMBERG & NEWPORT BEACH CITY COUNCIL Items of Importance to the Public for your Consideration 1. Pedestrian Walkway @ Newport Coast and Ridge Route 2. Town Hall Meetings — people actually want to be involved in how and what the priorities are in their City. This was evidenced at both the Visioning Process and the Cable Franchise workshops that were held around the City. 3. Updated information on the Nuclear Reactor at UCI, what parts of Newport Beach lie within the 6 -mile radius, what type of an evacuation plan if any is necessary? 4. Updating the City Web Site to include Emergency Preparedness. Is that currently available on the City Web Site and an explanation to the public of what a Shelter in Place program is. 5. Implementation of an Ordinance which prohibits Political/ campaign signs from being placed within 300 feet of a Polling Site which would comply with the 300 foot rule we have in the City when we need to mail notices to the Public. Currently the Law states that it be 100 foot radius — not 100 feet as how the voter walks. Respectfully, Dolores Otting 9 November 2004
