Badum 949 - 644 -3311 sbadum@city.newport-beach.ca.us SUBJECT: RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE BUILDING AD HOC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: Adopt resolution No. 2005- adopting the extension of the Building Ad Hoc Committee. DISCUSSION: On June 24, 2003, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2003 -30 establishing the Building Ad Hoc Committee to oversee the schematic design process for the City Hall Campus Project. Since then, the project has been put on hold due to a possible conflict of interest. Now that this conflict has been resolved, staff is recommending that we proceed with the schematic design phase of the project. Resolution No. 2003 -30, states the term of the Committee shall expire on March 31, 2005 unless extended by action of the City Council. If the schematic design phase is approved at this meeting, construction could begin mid -2006 with a construction completion date in 2007. As it is uncertain at this point what phases of this project will be completed, it is recommended that the term be extended through the duration of the project.
