RECOMMENDATION:
Confirm the appointments as announced by the Mayor to fill the following committee
vacancies created as a result of the resignation of Mayor Bromberg:
1) Aviation Committee (Chair);
2) Ad Hoc Committee to Promote the Revitalization of the Balboa Peninsula
(PROP) (confirmation of District 5 Council Member];

DISCUSSION:
Background:
At the City Council meeting of May 24, 2005, the City Council accepted the resignation
of Mayor Bromberg as the District 5 representative effective June 16, 2005. At the June
14, 2005 Council meeting Mayor Bromberg requested that staff prepare a staff report
appointing replacements for him on various committees.
Attached to this staff report is a copy of the roster which shows the vacant positions, as
well as the other members who serve on each of the committees.

DISCUSSION:
Background:
At the City Council meeting of May 24, 2005, the City Council accepted the resignation
of Mayor Bromberg as the District 5 representative effective June 16, 2005. Mayor
Heffernan forwarded his appointment recommendations to the City Clerk on Monday,
June 27, 2005 (as listed above). The above list includes all the Council Members on
the various committees. As noted some of the Chairs and Vice Chairs also changed
due to the reappointment of new members.
