SUBJECT: SUNSET RIDGE PARK - COMMUNITY OUTREACH FOR THE MASTER
PLAN
RECOMMENDATION:
Receive and provide input concerning the proposed public outreach procedure.
DISCUSSION:
On April 12, 2005, City Council approved a Professional Services Agreement with RJM
Design Group, Inc., (RJM) to provide master plan services for this project. One of
RJM's primary services is to schedule community workshops to receive public input
regarding planning and design of the master plan.
Tonight, RJM will overview the outreach procedure that it has used on many occasions
for similar park projects in southern California. RJM proposes to use this procedure in
an effort to solicit participation from the Newport Beach community in preparing the
master plan for Sunset Ridge Park. Staff and RJM desire to solicit input from the City
Council and the public regarding the process prior to scheduling the public outreach.
This overview was also presented before the PB &R Commission on June 7, 2005.
