SUBJECT: ,Appointment of John Moftakhar to Environmental Quality Affairs
Committee
RECOMMENDATION:
Appoint John Moftakhar to the Environmental Quality Affairs Committee (EQAC).
DISCUSSION:
One of the "Community Association" seats on EQAC is vacant. EQAC recommends
appointment of John Moftakahar to this seat. Mr. Moftakhar's application is attached,
and shows that he is active in Speak Up Newport.
The appointment will leave only one vacancy on EQAC, the District 4 seat. In addition,
the terms of District and at -large representatives for Districts 1 and 6 expired with the
completion of Council members Ridgeway's and Nichols' terms of office. Council
members Daigle, Henn and Gardner may make these appointments when the City
Council considers various committee appointments on January 23, 2007.
