SUBJECT: Recommendation from Economic Development Committee to fill EDC
vacancy.
ISSUE:
Fill current vacancy on Economic Development Committee.
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Fill current Economic Development Committee vacancy by appointing Mr. John Hyatt as the
representative from the Newport Beach Association of Realtors.
DISCUSSION:
Background:
At their regular meeting of February 21St, 2007, the Economic Development Committee
recommended that Mr. John Hyatt be appointed to the EDC as representative of the Newport
Beach Association of Realtors. Mr. Hyatt would replace Mr. Roy Freeman, who has recently retired
from the Association of Realtors board and therefore resigned from that position on the EDC.
Recommendation to fill Vacancy:
Mr. Hyatt has been a member of the Newport Beach Association of Realtors since April, 2000. He has
been active in the Association's Multiple Listing and Government and Political Affairs Committees.
Finally, Mr. Hyatt lives in Corona del Mar. For additional information, please note the attached brief
biography.

training from Central Florida Tech and the University of California. Publishing for over
26 years, with legendary thinkers such as Arnold Beckman. Prior to the University of
California he worked internationally in Asia, the Middle East and Europe with R&D and
medical sales.
Parallel to his medical career he was continually active in real estate and business
consulting, helping to bring over one billion dollars in new start up ideas to Orange
County. He is active in residential and commercial sales in Newport Beach and
surrounding communities.
John was most honored to currently serve on Newport Beach Association's MLS,
Professional Standards Mediation Arbitration and Government Political Affairs
Committees.
John would be an excellent addition to the EDC and would bring with him his experience
in property development and Realtorg network resources.
He has resided in Corona del Mar, Spyglass Hill, for the past 20 years with my wife,
Elaine.
