RECOMMENDATION: Approve the purchase of a Vision Cover-All Duraweave Fabric covered building in the amount of $27,675.00. DISCUSSION: Background: The Utilities Department will be installing an emergency generator in an existing building that currently houses the City's sewer cleaning equipment and maintenance materials. This generator is currently on a trailer and must be manually set up to provide back up electrical power in the event of an emergency. Once installed in the building, the generator will be equipped with an auto transfer switch and be fully automatic. The generator will displace other equipment. To house this displaced equipment, we have looked into fabric - covered buildings. We propose a new building (called "Vision Cover-All Legend ") that will be 32 feet wide by 64 feet long and 25 feet tall. The building will be covered with a Duraweave Fabric cover with a 15 year warranty and a Winch -loc tie down system. Purchase of Utilities Structure March 28, 2006 Page 2 The building will come with an engineered set of drawings. It will be constructed of Viper steel with a Gator Shield anti - corrosive coating, and will be sandstone in color. Utilities staff will be used to install the new building to minimize cost. This is where the Building will be placed: This is what the Building generally will look like: Purchase of Utilities Structure March 28, 2006 Page 3 We believe that this addition to the Utilities Yard is worthy of your attention, and therefore have brought the issue to the Council for approval.
