SUBJECT: BUDGET AMENDMENT TO ACCEPT A CHECK FROM THE NEWPORT
BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION (NBPLF) AND
APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS
BUDGET FOR FY 2007/08.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve a Budget Amendment to increase revenue estimates by $7,650 in Account No.
4090 -5893 (Library Foundation /NBPLF) and 4010 -5893 (Support Services /NBPLF) and
increase expenditure estimates by the same amount in Division 4090 (Foundation) and
4060 (Literacy) respectively.
DISCUSSION:
Each year donors give funds to the Newport Beach Public Library Foundation
requesting that their gift be spent for specific items. In turn, the Library receives these
gifts and allocates them to the correct accounts so that requests can be honored.
Several of these totals represent more than one donor. The entire donation will be used
to improve Library Services in the expenditure accounts as specified below:

Balboa Branch Collection ...... ............................... $1,600.
Audio Books on CD for Central ....... ........................$1,100.
Corona del Mar Branch Collection ... ........................$1,700.
Mariners Branch Collection ...... ..............................$ 200.
