HomeMy WebLinkAbout03 - Amendment to NBMC Chapter 14.16 (Water Conservation Ordinance and Supply Level Regulation) - CorrespondenceReceived After Agenda Printed -May 26, 2015 Item No. 3 & Non - Agenda Item From: Kiff, Dave Sent: Tuesday, May 26, 2015 4:05 PM To: Brown, Leilani Subject: FW: Water conservation ordinance and arts budget From: Libby Huyck Finailto:libonlido(&aol.coml Sent: Tuesday, May 26, 2015 4:04 PM To: Dept - City Council Subject: Water conservation ordinance and arts budget Please put this in the record for today's City Council meeting I just quickly reviewed my water bills and we only use an average of 22 units per 2 months, so already quite low usage. And now we will need to only use 75% of that. So does this new ordinance perhaps consider a break for those of us who already conserve water ?? Also, I didn't see ANY measure for a comprehensive water plan in the ordinance. And the purpose of the ordinance does state "to enable effective water supply planning ". Would it be possible to add language that does enforce a water supply plan as well? Will there be language to enforce compliance on public lands, including colleges? My last item concerns the art structures. Several of the new city Council members campaigned on a platform to get rid of the bunnies and "pretty boy ". Ok, but the last notice I saw in the paper says you approved more art structures. What happened? So for all of us who helped get several of you elected, I have lost trust in you. But more importantly, what changed your mind? If indeed one of your priorities is fiscal prudence, then why not get rid of art structures, a very low priority. Thank you for reading about my concerns. Libby Huyck Newport Beach P - wMr. A. Goigele 1808 Newport Hills Dr E 4t Newport Beach, CA 92660-7113 Newport Beach City Council VAayor, Edward D.
