Notice is hereby given
that on May 12, 2009, a
public hearing as re-
quired by Section 147(f)
of the Internal Revenue
Code (the 'Code ") will
be held with respect to
the proposed issuance
by the City of Newport
Beach, California (the
"City -) of its revenue
bonds in one or more
series, from time to
time, in an amount not
to exceed 5250 million
(the 'Bonds "). The pro-
ceeds of the Bonds will
be used by Hoag Memo-
rial Hospital Presbyte-
rian (the "Corporation ")
and Newport Healthcare
Center, LLC ('Newport ")
to finance and refinance
the cast of acquisition,
construction, im-
provement, equipping,
renovation, rehabilita-
tion, remodeling and
other capital projects lo-
cated on and about the
hospital campus at One
Hoag Drive and on and
about the healthcare fa.
cility located at 500 -540
Superior Avenue, each
in Newport Beach, CA
(collectively, the
'Project "). Each facility
identified above Is
owned and operated by
the Corporation or New-
port. each treated as a
nonprofit public benefit
corporation as de.
scribed in Section
501(c)(3) ofthe Code.
The hearing will com-
mence at 7 Is or
as soon thereafter as
the matter can be
heard, and will be held
at the City Council
Chambers, City Hall.

persons wishing to ex-
press their views on the
issuance of the Bonds
or on the nature and
location of the health
facilities proposed to be
financed may attend the
public hearing or, prior
to the time of the hear-
ing, submit written com-
ments.
The Bonds will be issued
by the City under the
powers reserved to the
City under Sections 3. 5
and 7 of Article NI of
the Constitution of the
State of California and
Section 200 of Article 11
of the Charter of the
City to finance the costs
of the Project described
above and will be
limited obligations of
the City to be repaid
solely from revenues re-
ceived by the City from
the Corporation and
Newport.
