MEMORANDUM
TO: Members of the City Council

RE: Resolution re: Sale of OC Fairgrounds
The Mayor has asked that the Council consider adding the attached resolution to tonight's
agenda. Doing so will require findings associated with the assertion that the need to adopt this
resolution came after the time when the 12 -08 -09 meeting's agenda was posted.
A 4 /5ths vote is required to place this item on the agenda, and then a majority vote to pass.
The reasons for considering this item now are:
• A request from the City of Costa Mesa was made to the Mayor after the agenda was
posted (specifically Sunday);
• Your Council has no more scheduled meetings in December, and does not meet again in
regular session until January 12, 2010.
• The City believes that this resolution should go up to the Governor and to the CA
Department of General Services immediately so that the Governor can consider the
City's opinion within the context of the RFP and fairgrounds sale schedule.
