Reagan Statue at City Hall
Dear Mayor and Council members,
We, along with friends and neighbors, are appalled at this prospect. We believe no such presidential
tribute, regardless of party, warrants placement on public property in our city. We are most troubled
that your action
to do so has occurred without thorough public review and advice. Mr. Reagan's legacy is well
recognized
elsewhere and has no relation whatsoever to the history and culture of Newport Beach. There are so
many better ways to celebrate our community, and presumably his birthday.
