I g pw CM Newport Beach Council Meeting Dated July 12, 2011 I would like to make several observations tonight that have as common denominators (i) preserving Newport's quality of life and (ii) generating revenues by asking certain businesses and residents to pay a fair price for additional resources beyond those utilized by most residents. 1. Adopt ordinance to fine businesses such as bars and restaurants in a manner and spirit similar to "Loud and Unruly Gathering Ordinance ". 2. Difference in calculation of fee paid to the City for appeals not "put forward" by a Council Person versus fee calculation for appeals put forward by a CouncilPerson. 3. Review Annual Oceanfront Encroachment Permits. City should consider raising fees in West Newport and initiate fees in other areas such as Peninsula Point.
