Chair Kramer reappointed himself and Commissioner Hillgren to the General Plan /LCP Committee, and appointed Commissioner Keotting. AYES: Brown, Hillgren, Koetting, Kramer, Lawler NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: Weigand, Zak City Council Staff Report Page 2 PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS: ITEM NO. 4 VERIZON WIRELESS FACILITY (PA2014 -125) Site Location: 1501 Superior Avenue SUMMARY: A Conditional Use Permit to allow 12, eight -foot antennas, one microwave dish, 12 RRU's, and support equipment cabinets behind a new 12 -foot tall parapet screen wall on the roof of an existing office building. The new parapet screen wall would exceed the maximum height limits of 50 feet by 5 feet. The proposed support equipment will include three equipment cabinets, two battery cabinets, three fiber demarcation boxes, two GPS antennas, and one generator all within the existing office building. CEQA COMPLIANCE: The project is categorically exempt under Sections 15301 and 15303, of the State CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) Guidelines - Class 1 (Existing Facilities) and Class 3 (New Construction). Principal Planner Jim Campbell provided a staff report, and discussion ensued. Because of conflicts with the applicant's testimony and the submitted plans, the Planning Commission voted to continue the item to August 20, 2105 to allow staff to work with the applicant to clarify the design details as well as other questions.
