SUBJECT: BUDGET AMENDMENTS TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FROM THE
REIBER TRUST TO AN EXPENDITURE ACCOUNT.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve a Budget Amendment in the amount of $10,000.
DISCUSSION:
Approve Budget Amendment directing staff to transfer funds from the Reiber Library
Bequest #800 -2247 into revenue account 4010 -5901 so the funds can be appropriated
into the following expenditure account (4010 -8260) for maintenance and operations at
the Balboa Branch Library. Reiber funds were given as a bequest in 1995 from the
estate of Roy Raymond Reiber, a former Costa Mesa resident, to be used to enhance
the children's programs at the Balboa Branch Library.
When appropriated the funds will be used as follows:
I. 4010 -8260
- to bind Nautical Periodicals (50 volumes @ $15 per volume) $750
- to purchase databases for youth, which include: $8,468
Facts on File (Curriculum Resource Center, World Atlas, and Ancient History
and Culture)
- to refurbish children's Easy Read and Picture Book collections 782
