DISCUSSION: The owner of the adjacent property, Mr. Magdi R. Hanna, has requested that the portion of unused alley right -of -way be abandoned by the City. The Southern California Gas Company, and Pacific Bell have facilities located within the portion of alley to be vacated and have requested that a utility easement be reserved, if the alley is vacated. The City has no utilities within the alley right -of -way to be vacated, but desires to retain an access easement over the portion of alley from East Coast Highway northerly to the intersecting alley as shown on the attached exhibit. It is recommended that a public hearing be set for September 14, 1998, to consider the requested street vacation.
