COMMITTEE TO REVIEW APPLICATIONS FOR THE VACANT POSITION
ON THE LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES CREATED BY THE
RESIGNATION OF JAY McGOODWIN
RECOMMENDATION
Appoint and
Appointments Committee.
BACKGROUND
to serve on the Ad Hoc
On July 27, 1998, the City Council accepted the resignation of Jay McGoodwin from the Library
Board of Trustees effective July 19, 1998.
Consistent with Council Policy A -2 and pursuant to direction provided on July 27, 1998,
information regarding this vacancy was submitted to The Daily Pilot for publication on August 1
and August 8, 1998. The deadline for submitting applications will be 4:00 p.m. on Thursday,
August 20, 1998, which will allow the committee adequate time to conduct interviews in order to
submit the names of two nominees to the full Council on September 14, 1998. The appointment
to fill the vacancy is scheduled for September 28, 1998.
The ad -hoc appointments committee will consist of three council members appointed by the
Mayor. Once the final appointment is made by the City Council, the ad -hoc Appointments
Committee will be dissolved.
